In 2014, Co-Serve began sharing about servant leadership with friends from Nigeria. This included meeting Iliya Majam, who had developed a leadership training organization in Nigeria. Iliya became so convinced about the need for servant leadership in Africa, that he founded Harvest Leadership Community in Africa (or “HALCIA”), with the mission to promote a culture of servant leadership in Africa. Over the last ten years, Co-Serve has been blessed to partner closely with HALCIA, including training and mentoring their staff and leaders. As part of this, Jonathan Martin has helped HALCIA develop their work with nonprofits and church groups and Dan Ballast has been helping them in their work with universities.
